Why Black Note? – A More Natural Way to Quit Smoking!

Smoking cigarettes is the leading cause of preventable illness and death in the United States. Smoking becomes a life long habit for some people. The sad facts of this deadly habit is it causes many cancers as well as chronic lung diseases such as emphysema and bronchitis, heart disease, pregnancy-related problems, and many other serious health problems. But the good news is that there are ways to stop smoking with the right tools and mindset.

Quitting is not an easy task but it can be accomplished by being committed to changing your lifestyle to a healthier one.  Eating healthy organic foods and exercising can help you quit smoking. Below is some important facts and alternative methods that might help you on the road to becoming a non-smoker.

Vaping Remains 95% Safer than Smoking (Despite Naysayers)

The statistic that vaping is around 95 percent safer than smoking was first published a few years back. While that statistic is impressive enough on its own, it’s even more impressive when you take a look at the evidence that backs it up, evidence that’s strong enough to withstand both time and naysayers.

Where the Statistic Came From:
The 95 percent statistic was estimated based on evidence from three main sources.

1. Public Health England Independent Review

A 2014 independent review written Professor John Britton and Dr. Ilze Bogdanovica took an in-depth look at vaping vs. traditional cigarettes. While both deliver nicotine, the delivery with cigarettes came with a wide scope of carcinogens and toxins, such as DDT and arsenic, found in tar.

Since vaping does not burn tobacco, the only potential toxins would be those in the e-juice or created by heating the e-juice. The report noted the main component of e-liquid, propylene glycol (PG), is not known to have adverse effects on the lungs.

2. Expert Panel Scoring Nicotine Products

An international expert panel convened by the Independent Scientific Committee on Drugs scored various nicotine products on a scale of 1 to 100. The 2014 report found cigarettes were the most harmful, with a score of 100. Vaping scored less than 16. The conclusion was that non-combustible sources of nicotine, such as vaping, were far less harmful than combustible cigarettes.

3. Expert Review Backing up Expert Panel

An expert review presented to the UK All Party Parliamentary Group on Smoking and Health as well as the UK All Party Parliamentary Group on Pharmacy discussed the safety of vaping. It noted long-term harm of vaping is not known, but has been estimated at about 1/20th that of smoking traditional cigarettes. The report also said exhaled vapor does contain chemicals such as nicotine, but levels are below concentration expected to cause bystanders any significant harm.

How 95 Percent Safer was Determined
Two facts served as the foundation for the estimate that vaping is about 95 percent safer than smoking cigarettes.

They are:

  • The carcinogens and other harmful constituents of cigarette smoke are either non-existent in vapor or, if present, at levels equivalent to less than 1 to 5 percent of those delivered by smoking.
  • The main chemicals used in vaping have not been associated with any serious risks.

Since some flavorings and other constituents used in vaping may pose long-term risks, the 5 percent is considered a cautious estimate for possible residual risk.

When a wave of naysayers attempted to spread reports of new vaping risks, Public Health England immediately assessed if those reports had any impact on its previous conclusions regarding vaping. They didn’t.

Not only did Public Health England stick by the initial 2014 determination that vaping was about 95 percent safer than smoking, but it issued a statement that reinforced its overall message. Its statement closes with a line that proclaims there is “no doubt” smokers that put down cigarettes in favor of vaping “reduce risks to their health dramatically.

Conclusion

The fact is that you can quit smoking! It is a deadly habit that not only affects you but your family members and any one that is around you.  If you haven’t been able to accomplish this yet, don’t give up — please take it one step at a time and try using a natural extracted tobacco without all the chemicals.
