Can Juice Really Help You Get Rid of Stress and Anxiety?

Some people think that stress is just a tiny part of one’s life to pay attention to, others, however, find it very difficult to manage stress and anxiety. The truth is, just like any health problem, stress and anxiety must be treated accordingly. Without doing so, it could affect dramatically the quality of life and may lead to further complications.

Cortisol Overload: Cause of Stress

Naturally, cortisol is known as the stress hormone. The human body produces cortisol when one is experiencing stress and struggle from his surroundings. Alongside adrenalin and insulin, the said hormones are produced in the body’s adrenal gland.

Each of these hormones has its own functions, especially when one is experiencing a strain from his external extremities. Accordingly, cortisol is not necessarily bad for the body since it is largely designed to boost the body’s energy for 18 minutes. It is the reason behind why you get those adrenalin rush when you are in a middle of a blood-rushing incident.

If you are in those kinds of situations, it’s good. But if you are in the middle of your breakdown or in the middle of fretting over your bills and dues, expect those hormones to be misused. When these hormones, especially cortisol, are misused, it could lead to other health problems.

How Does Juice For Stress Help?

Today, there are a lot of ways to efficiently help you get rid of stress and anxiety. It is known that the best option is to get help from specialists. Little did everyone know that there are far more natural and effective methods to control stress and anxiety, aside from getting assistance from experts.

One of the best ways to do this is to change your diet. Having a healthy lifestyle must be a priority if you are aiming to improve your mental attitude. It is seen that people who normally experience stress and anxiety attacks are the ones who have been exposed to unhealthy habits and lifestyle. Drinking too much alcohol and caffeine are some of the top contributors that elicit the cortisol immediate.

Hence, you can see that your liquid intake has a lot to do with your diet. Consequently, changing your liquid consumption can significantly alleviate stress and anxiety. Alongside water therapies, juicing is another beneficial way for you to decrease symptoms of stress.

Juicing Nutrients For Fighting Stress and Anxiety

When you utilize juicing to fight stress and anxiety, you are allowing your body to obtain enough nutrients and vitamins. It is essential to note that the lack of the needed nutrients can degrade the state of your stress and anxiety.

  • B Vitamins

B vitamins work as a team. They are largely responsible for controlling the cortisol levels. Hence, if you lack these vitamins, your body will resort to producing more cortisol hormones causing you to feel even more stressed out. You can get a lot of B vitamins from green leafy vegetables, squash, carrots, and pumpkins.

  • Vitamin C

Enough daily intake of vitamin C is essential. Not only that they can protect you from different kinds of diseases, but they can reduce significantly the stress levels. According to studies, it is shown that people who are healthy react mildly to stressful situations. You can get a lot of vitamin C from citrus fruits. Also, there are superfoods powders that contain a lot of vitamin C.

  • Magnesium

Magnesium has a huge role in everyone’s emotional and mental health. Hence, deficiencies of this mineral can lead to panic attacks, depression, and anxiety since it blocks the production of serotonin. Note that serotonin is responsible for your positive and happy emotions.

Foods that are high in magnesium include veggies, most fruits, sweet corn, tomatoes, and onions.

Juice That Helps Control Anxiety and Stress

From the given nutrients above, you certainly have ideas already what specific ingredients you can use for your juicing. It is important to note that heating and cooking foods can destroy the nutrients and vitamins. Accordingly, juicing is much more efficient. Aside from being efficient and effective, juicing is much more convenient since you only need juicers and blenders.

  2. This is really interesting. I first thought that getting a quick spike in sugar is what helped people feel better, but I get the same reaction from drinking kombucha which is full of the vitamins and probiotics without any of the sugar. I hadn’t put it all together….very cool!

  3. Thanks Marla for this interesting article. I rarely juice, because it’s a mess to clean up the juicer. Also I to to get my nutrients from mostly veggies therefore kkeping the amount of sugar I consume to an adequate level (refined sugar does affect mood negatively so my only exception is chocolate). However, I recently read reserach that suggests when you drink juice very slowly, the body has a chance to absorb it without getting a sugar rush. That’s what I’ll do from now on. Love your illustrations.
