Plastic Pollution: Simple Tips and Facts to Stop the Pollution!

Plastic pollution is everywhere on our beaches washed from our oceans, on our land and landfills are filled with plastic that is toxic to our health and environment. The plastic pollution is growing at alarming numbers in the last 50 years. The production use of plastic has increased for globally yearly. According to the Global Industry Analysts 297.5 million tons was consumed in one way or the other by the end of 2015.

Plastic seems to be the perfect household material to store our food in, packaging for many food and drinks, the uses seem  endless. It is durable, strong lightweight, cheap, flexible, but there is also a dark dangerous side to plastic that we have just started to find out about in the last 2 decades. That is the toxicity and health consequences of plastic to our body’s health and the health of the environment. Check out why plastic water bottles is not a green choice!

Plastic is slow to degrade and the polluting of it has spread world-wide due to littering, over-consuming, and we are slowing destroying our environment with the constant over consumption that leads to littering and polluting that causes a toxin unbalance in Mother Nature. There are literally millions of tons of garbage floating around our oceans water and the majority of it is from plastic.

So what can we do about this pollution? Well there are many ways we can stop it and we need to start today! The need to stop this destruction of our wonderful planet is crucial!

The western World is so dependent on plastic yet we absolutely have to change this mindset …. and there are so many perfectly acceptable alternatives available …. but sadly reusable is never going to be as profitable as disposable and that is a hard problem to solve.
