Starting Your Organic Garden From Seeds!

Yes it is still Winter and most of the country is cold and barren – life seems to be dormant. Before you know it Spring will be here! The Earth will awaken and explode with beauty and new life and if you are gardener — its time to put on gloves on and start digging. But why wait for Spring to start your garden? Why not start your plants from seeds now in the Winter? This is the perfect time to start that organic garden and keep them indoors where they are safe from the cold and snow.  Starting your own plants from heirloom or hybrid seeds can be a rewarding experience and give you the satisfaction of watching them grow from a tiny seed to a full grown plant and knowing that you are growing the healthiest plants possible.

All you need is a sunny windowsill or somewhere that has the proper lighting and warmth, potting soil or you can use soil-less mixtures, containers, and a little direction and know how to get you started. Having the proper light can sometimes be a challenge but try adding some indoor grow lights and you can give your plants the proper start they need.

After you decide what you are going to grow then you need to get the seeds and read the directions of the back of the seed packet and follow them so that your plants get the proper nutrition, lighting, and will get a good start with the proper organic fertilizer and your loving touch. Each plant or species whether flowers or vegetables have a variety of individual needs that need to be followed to ensure a healthy sturdy plant that will grow outdoors when the time is right.

The infographic below can help guide you and help you have strong, healthy plants for your organic garden that will thrive throughout the whole season. So don’t wait another minute – get your garden started now with seeds that you can start in the Winter.
