15 Calming Plants For A Good Night Sleep!

Sleep is an important part of our well-being. While we sleep, our muscles are repaired and our energy is restored, making it an essential process to our physical and mental health, as well as our overall productivity and quality of life.
The essential role sleep plays in our health means that sleep deprivation can have serious consequences, both physically and emotionally. Studies have shown that people who experience sleep insufficiency are at a greater risk of developing several diseases, including hypertension, diabetes and certain types of cancer. Additionally, sleep and mood are closely linked: people who suffer from sleep disorders or other sleep-related problems are more likely to develop emotional disorders, depression and anxiety.
Despite the importance of a good night’s sleep, the majority of Americans aren’t getting the rest they need.
There are many causes of sleep deprivation
  • Sleep disorders
  • Stress
  • Air quality
  • Other underlying medical causes

Luckily, if you’re one of the millions of people who find themselves struggling to sleep at night, there are many remedies to help you sleep that don’t interrupt your life or require medication.

Adding a plant to your bedroom is one such natural remedy. Several plants have sleep-promoting properties, like lavender, which lowers the heart rate and relaxes the mind. The team over at Dromma Bed created an infographic outlining the 15 best indoor plants for sleep. Try adding one of the suggested plants to your bedroom to improve your quantity and quality of sleep.
