Facts and Dangers of Pesticides & Alternative Safe Solutions

Today my friends, I would like to discuss more about the facts and fictions in reference to pesticides.  I wanted to continue because I think it is crucial that you are aware of the dangers the could be lurking in your home and the potential health hazardous that truly exist in synthetic pesticides for you and your family. I feel it is my duty to continue to give you all the information that I can. So it goes!

1. Question: Are the warnings on pesticide labels for the applicator only, not the homeowner?

Answer: No! The warnings are for anyone that may come in contact with the toxic chemical pesticide. The warning are so stern that the EPA should never have registered toxic products. Warnings are not always the biggest problem, it’s the non-disclosure that results in harm to the consumer. Many pest control companies fail or refuse to disclose the dangers of the chemical toxins and this should be done at least 3 days before they spray. If this does not happen you and your family are in danger to many health risks or even if they tell you some facts they are not going to let you know the real harm or you would never let them use their products.

If they tell you any information they will sugar coat the truth. You should be informed the compatibility of the pesticide with other products in and around your house, safety rules and measures you need to follow including procedures to minimize the potential harm to people, animals and the environment, and any other relevant restrictions.  The bottom line is the label is for the customer who is the one that has to live with the end results of the toxicity.

2. Question: My pest control company said that if the pesticide has “Caution” on the label, it is not poison and they also told me that they don’t use any products with the signal word “Warning.” Is this true?

Answer: No!  All pesticides are poisons. The signal word of “Caution” or “Danger”on the label is a warning that means — toxic chemicals in the product. Danger-Poison and even a skull and crossbones symbol, is a definite danger, but if you don’t even get to see the product that the pest company is using you have no way of knowing that you are in great danger of toxic exposure.

3. Question:  Is it true that Botanical pesticides don’t work as well as “traditional” pesticides?

Answer: NO! There are no such thing as “traditional” pesticides and no historical references to synthetic pesticides before the 19th century. History does however reference hundreds of natural plant oils and extract for insecticidal purposes.

There are 5 global categories of pesticides:

1. Safe Non Toxic Botanical

2. Safe Non-Toxic Organic

3. Unsafe Toxic Synthetic

4. Unsafe Toxic Organic

5. Unsafe Toxic Botanical.

If there would ever be a “traditional” pesticide it would be plant sap, plant oil, or plant secretion other than sap, not a man-made chemical. Botanical insecticides work equally well in university and field tests and day-to-day pests control and better when you factor in that most botanical pesticides are safe and pose no health risks. Botanical pesticides control all the same insects including termites. Botanical pesticides can be used in all food handling facilities, kitchens and around infants. No synthetic Toxic pesticide has ever been able to make this claim .

Now there is a product —AlwayEco Safe All Natural Pest Control that can control your pesty bugs safety for your family, pets, and the environment.

In Anhemi, California-based Western Exterminators used botanical pesticides in approximately 2,500 homes and found it equally as effective.  This product is AlwaysEco offer viable botanical-based alternatives to conventional pesticides. Compare this product click here.

4. Question: Does the word “Organic” mean the pesticide is safe?

Answer: No!  “Organic pest control” is a recent trend in the pest industry.  The term “organic” became popular because people associate safety with the term organic. The definition of organic as it applies to pest control is: “Organic – noting or pertaining to a class of chemical compounds that formerly comprised only those existing in or derived from plants or animals, but that now includes all other compounds of carbon.

Some organic pest control and non toxic pest control are advertising ploys developed to trick the consumer into buying products or services “What does that mean is that any product that contains a carbon molecule can be advertised as “organic.” This is a little misleading to the public and click here to read about some of the less mentioned aspects of organic pest control. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as truly safe, non toxic pest control made from compounds.

Some other useful information:

Boric acid is used in the control of insects as well. While a non corrosive powder, it is considered toxic and should not be swallowed. Boric acid is especially discouraged for people with children and pets.

Baits are a low toxicity control, but does have toxins, method that is especially useful for ants, where the goal is to kill the queen and other ants in the nest, not just the ants that reach the bait. Control is not immediate but can have a dampening effect in the long run.

Now that I have given you more facts visa fictions I hope you will consider all this information and check the facts.
