4 Powerful Remedies for Relief from Chronic Pain

Dealing with chronic pain can be life limiting and unbearable. Many do not want to reach straight into the medicine cabinet when suffering with chronic pain, as this can be costly and can mean our body will start to become used to this medication, meaning we need stronger and stronger painkillers over time. If you or a loved one are dealing with chronic pain from any condition, here are a few powerful remedies that may help.

4 Powerful Remedies for Chroinc Pain

Exercise

This is not ideal for everyone as some people suffering with chronic pain cannot exercise. If you can exercise, do so as this can alleviate chronic pain. As we exercise, our body releases hormones such as endorphins that not only make us feel good but also increase how much pain we can tolerate. Exercising also keeps us moving and active which can help with our mental well-being. If you are in too much pain to exercise, try and start out slowly and build up to more. Chronic pain sufferers also end up becoming very stiff as they do not want to move as much for the pain. Exercising may hurt at first, but it will help over time.

Fish Oil

Fish oil is a very cheap and easy relief for chronic pain. Fish oil is well-known to have anti-inflammatory properties and as most chronic pain is caused by inflammation, introducing fish oil into your diet may really benefit you. This will not be of immediate effect, but the more you ingest fish oil, the more you should start to feel its effects. If you can eat oily fish this is a great way to get some into your diet, but the best way is to take fish oil supplements. These can be bought from most drugstores or superstores.

CBD Oil

CBD oil is becoming more and more popular within the US. Unlike marijuana or weed, CBD oil does not contain THC which is the component that gives you a high feeling. CBD oil can be taken many ways including vaping or adding it into food. For many, this can relieve chronic pain as it relaxes muscles and has many other great properties. CBD oil is completely natural and legal in most states, although this is something you should check beforehand. If you want all the healing benefits of hemp, you need to find a wholesale CBD supplier.

Hot and Cold Therapy

Both the heat and the cold can help with chronic pain but it is good to know when and how to use it. If you have inflammation locally, then ice therapy may help with this. Adding heat to a swollen wrist or ankle would increase the swelling as it increases blood flow. If you have a condition that causes chronic pain such as sciatica, heat would be beneficial for the pain in your back. Not only will this help alleviate the pain, but it will also give you a distraction. Having a nice warm bath can rest your body and mind. Sometimes, if we are in pain, we tend to tense up more, but this can have a negative effect on getting better as the more we tense our muscles, the more pain we will be in.

Chronic pain can be tough to deal with and medications are always recommended, but there are other remedies that can help if you need something more or want to rely on something more natural. These may work for some people and may not work for others. The best way to deal with your chronic pain is to find a routine that is right for you.

  1. This is great information! I have a back injury that has haunted me for years. I haven’t tried CBD oil yet but everyone says such great things about it! I personally like dry needling and cupping!

    1. HI Karl,
CBD has given many people relief for many conditions and is a great healing tool for the body, mind and spirit. I have never tried needling and cupping but have tried acupuncture with some positive results. Thank you for stopping by and commenting.
