  6. We mostly hand pick, when we had the caterpillar infestation we broke down and used organic pest control (bT). It’s such a balance between getting rid of the pests so YOU can eat your crops and wanting to encourage the good bugs. There are methods discussed here I wouldn’t have thought of.   7. I think organic pest prevention is important though sometimes I would rather not grow a certain crop than work too hard battling pests. I worry about even organic sprays/powders accidental affect on pollinators and beneficial insects. In my mind a better tecnique is to just grow healthy plants of varieites well suited to your area.
