Today my friends, I would like to discuss something that should be of use to all my readers, since we all have to eat everyday. Scientists find more and more evidence that links what we eat to our all over well-being.

The old saying of “We are What We Eat” is actually not far from the truth! We have all heard about Super-Foods and how important our diet is to obtain optimal health, so let’s see what we can find out about all this.

Every time I go on the internet or look in a magazine I see a new Super Food that scientist have discovered to have super health benefits or powerful antioxidant powers. I cannot tell you that this claims are not true, but it’s a matter of financial concern and what is a gimmick and actual fact. The truth is we don’t have to buy costly exotic fruit juices that have super powers.

Many foods that are in our local supermarket or at the your local farmer’s market can be just as effective at fighting diseases and boosting your health as some the expensive super power energy drinks or powders.

There are many foods that are very beneficial to your health including:

  • Whole grainsstroke risk reduced 30-36%, type 2 diabetes risk reduced 21-30%, heart disease risk reduced 25-28%, better weight maintenance
  • Blueberries that are known for there cancer fighting abilities
  • Aavocado that have beneficial fats just as olive oil does
  •  Spinach that is has loads of Vitamin A and is great for many things such as helping your vision, anti-inflammatory factors, and is great for boosting your immune system.
  •  Dark chocolate that has many health benefits — which is included in a previous a blog “Good News for Chocolate Lover”

I came across a book called “Power Foods” from the editors of Whole Living magazine that is a Martha Stewart Living publications and found some useful information about Power Foods that I wanted to share with you.
