When you go to work, there are a lot of things that are difficult for you to cope with—the workload, your co-workers, even budget worries. But what if the office itself is contributing to your difficult work days? Are you working in a toxic office? If you think your office might have some toxins that are affecting your hours there, you aren’t alone: The Environmental Protection Agency believes that 25 percent of new and renovated buildings may be causing what’s known as sick building syndrome, or SBS.

It would be wonderful if we could all work in green buildings and protect our health and the environments health, but the reality is that toxins are polluting most office building and our health is being compromised!

SBS is a complex constellation of symptoms such as fatigue, nose irritation, odor sensitivity, allergy symptoms, headaches and so much more, that may be caused by the sealed-up buildings that expose individuals to chemicals and other elements. Those contaminants may come from inside the building or outside the building—motor vehicle exhaust, for example.
