People need nourishment in the form of food. While the most popular foods are usually those that are not really good for their health and sadly many people seem to prefer those over the healthy kind. Nutrisystem Diet wishes to convey a healthier message for everyone — there are ancient foods that they need to partake of to make themselves healthy.
Here are the ten healthy ancient superfoods that they recommend:
Quinoa. This is one of the grains that are very versatile when it comes to using in recipes and serving to your family. One can use this for salads or include them in healthy stir fries. Fermented cod liver oil. This is one of the richest sources of omega-3 oil. In fact, it has variants of it like EPA and DHA. Aside from that it also contains high amounts of Vitamins D and A. These vitamins are essential in making your body healthy.
Bone broth. The secrets of bone broth lie in the fact that it contains a lot of minerals that makes a person’s immune system stronger and more reliable. It has high amounts of collagen, glutamine, proline and glycine which all have healing benefits.
Emmer. Just like most of the foods in this list, emmer is a good source of vitamins and minerals that make your body stronger and healthier. It benefits the heart and heightens a person’s immunity to certain diseases. It is a good source of protein especially for those going on a diet. The high quantity of antioxidants provides for cleaner systems and healthier living.

It also contains a lot of antioxidants like vitamin B, C, potassium, manganese, zinc, copper, magnesium, and calcium. Because of all these, it has been branded as ‘black magic’.
Broccoli Sprouts. This is one food that can help you fight off cancer cells from developing. With broccoli sprouts, you get 50 times more of these compared to eating regular broccoli. So even if you do not eat as much, you get its full benefits.
Legumes and grains. Superfoods do not need to be exotic or unknown. Yes, these include fruits and seeds that no one has heard of but they are just part of it. In this case, beans are the best legumes to include in this list. It has tons of phytochemicals and nutrients as does unprocessed grains that all promote better health and quality of life.
