To add life and freshness to mulberries (they will only stay fresh 3 days without this) or any berries wash them with as soon as you get the home with:

  • 1 part white or organic apple cider vinegar
  • 10 parts water

Dump the berries into the mixture and swish around. Drain, rinse but not to worry you wouldn’t taste the vinegar it will only help keep them fresh and free of mold and bacteria. Put them immediately in the fridge.

All berries including mulberries are part of a healing raw diet, but you can enjoy them and gain health benefits by adding them to your diet in many ways. If you want to eat them fresh try adding a little citrus juice that will give them a nice tangy taste. Eat dried mulberries, just like raisins.

Give them to the kids as a healthy snack or add them to their cereal or in their pancakes. Try adding them to your favorite trail mix or pick them up fresh at a natural health food store. Maybe you even have some growing nearby at a local farmer that would be happy to share with you. You can freeze them to use later or make a jam, put them in muffins, make a mulberry crisp, bake a pie with them or add them to your favorite smoothie. The options are endless and you have some many health benefits from this wonderful healthy berry that Mother Nature provided for our use.

    1. Hi Bill,
I am no expert but I think as long as you don’t heat or cook the mulberries especially at too high of a heat there should be no difference in the juice health benefits. Cooking at high temperatures tends to deplete in some foods nutritional value. Make sure you are using mulberries that have not been sprayed with any kind of chemicals. Thanks for stopping by and reading my article. Have a healthy, happy & blessed day.

Do you know where I can purchase Mulberry Syrup (with no sugar added) or genuine Mulberry capsules. You never know who is selling a legitimate Mulberry.

    1. Hi,
I don’t know of any specific brand that I can recommend. My suggestion would any local farmer markets try to see if any of the vendors make homemade syrup and ask them how they make it. As far as supplements I would try a health food if you had one nearby and ask them for a good brand to recommend. If you do a search on line which I did try but the brands of supplements that I know for sure are true and good didn’t seem to carry mulberry supplements. Make sure your read the labels very carefully and if possible choose and organic or Non-GMO brand. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help to you. Check for the additives they put in and you could even e-mail or call the company and ask questions. If they are a good supplement company they will have some kind of good customer service – if they done’t that’s no a good sign. Good luck with your search and let me know if I can be or any more help. Have a healthy, happy & blessed day. Thank you stopping by and commenting.

  3. As a child, my family loaded into the car & went mulberry picking. We went almost every day from spring to late summer. What we didn’t consumed on any of those days, my parents would freeze or canned the mulberries.

We ate the mulberries, in various forms throughout the winter months.

But, I didn’t realize just how many benefits were derived from the mulberries. I have 3 bushes in my yard. But, I have been too busy to take advantage of saving any more than I can eat at one time.

Thank you for your sharing of your information on the mulberry’s healing properties. I will definitely pass it along & harvest this healing fruit this year.
