  5. We don’t buy soda and our kids are happily not addicted to what amounts to a completely worthless beverage.

People become addicted to these sugary drinks and their physical and mental health suffers.

  6. Oh, and also, I agree with your comment above. The FDA has a lot of outside influences and even the times they are unbiased, food manufacturers still have many ways in which they can falsify studies. They really don’t have our best interest in mind. In fact, a little research on how to get an additive approved by the FDA as GRAS….shows this! If a food product (such as aspartame’s) safety is debated, it’s simple, don’t trust it!

    1. HI Jenn,
I totally agree with you on the statement if food product safety is debated I just don’t trust it. The FDA seal of approval means nothing to me. You have to research and find out for yourself – to me anything that is synthetic or not real food should not be consumed. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Happy Autumn!

  7. I definitely found #7 one of the most important tips in curbing my soda addiction as well :). Gives you something to hold you over!

    1. HI Jenn,
Glad that the infographic was helpful for you. Keep up the fight and you can be off soda for good. Have a great day. Thanks for your comment!

  8. First and foremost, our industry’s products have been extensively tested and reviewed, with the body of science and regulatory agencies around the globe repeatedly verifying their safety. With respect to aspartame specifically, scientists and regulatory agencies around the globe have repeatedly reaffirmed this ingredient’s safety. In fact, the EFSA recently conducted an in-depth risk assessment on aspartame, and deemed it safe for general consumption and pregnant women, as well as ruled out alleged neurological effects. In sum, consumers can rest assured that soft drinks and beverages containing low-calorie sweeteners are safe and our industry adheres to all government regulations.

    1. First and foremost anything to me that is not real food and contains artificial engineered ingredients puts up a red flag immediately as a health risk. I have read many studies that do claim that aspartame is safe but you must also consider who is doing the studies and what their agenda is. Just a few links that can debunk your claim of the safety of aspartame — http://aspartame.mercola.com/https://www.mdanderson.org/publications/focused-on-health/october-2014/does-diet-soda-cause-cancer.html —http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php/Aspartame
Any company that is contacted with Monsanto or associated companies or even FDA I do not trust their results. I think there is so much unknown and questionable research that I think we should all beware and prove of faulty testing and results. Just because the FDA approved it or any other government agency (EFSA) in no way means in that it is safe. I feel there are too many unanswered question to say that is safe. Watch the utube on the last link I provided – it opens a lot of questionable research results. If there is any question that is can cause harm and with aspartame there is much controversy to consider and I would not ever recommend a pregnant women or any person to use aspartame or any artificial sweetener that is chemically altered and engineered. Thank you for your comment. Have a healthy day!
