Cortisol is the hormone in your body that builds in your sleep. It is activated by stress and it is your get going hormone. That is the same feeling you get when you down your first cup of coffee. It is the way you feel when you are half-way through your second cup.

What time should you drink your coffee?

Cortisol is usually at its highest at around midnight, but you are not using anything since you are not moving. It is a safe way to measure it this way. If you get out of bed at 6:30 A.M. expect your cortisol level to be dropped by 9:30 A.M. You will have a dip about every 3 hours. Those 3 hour breaks are the best time to have your coffee.
